Bucharest Weekend Vibes : 19 - 21 July


A new Bucharest weekend filled with tasty surprises is loading.

Main events happening all through the weekend:

100 Romanian Traditions for Saint Elijah

The back yard of the Peasent's Museum will be turned into an open air fair dedicated to the celebration of Saint Elijah in Christian Orthodox religion. The tradition of celebrating name day in Romania is boosting up the popularity of local traditions and craft made gifts.

The fair will be open Friday to Sunday from 10.00 to 18.00 - free entrance

Those who are looking for a special gift for loved ones have the opportunity to choose unique objects hand crafted by people from all around the country out of wool, stained glass, precious metals and leather, accessories and cosmetics made with natural ingredients and special herbs.

A selection of antiques, traditional to country life will also be found here: dowry boxes, folk costumes from all the ethnographic areas of the country, tools for weaving or for working the earth.

You can enjoy delicious homemade cakes, savory delights, seasonal fruits and vegetables, natural juices and salads, plum brandy and a large variety of honeys. You'll find delicious meat products made of rare meats: dried deer, bear, wild boar, and many other specialties, accompanied by Romanian matured cheeses.

Throughout the duration of the fair, creativity workshops will be run, where children will be able to make dolls and characters from wooden spoons or wooden puzzles (painted horses, unicorns, carts, vintage cars). The cost of attending a workshop is between 15 and 25 lei.

Asian Food Fest

The festival will be taking place in Titan Park, Friday to Sunday from 13.00 to 22.00. Free entrance.

Discover the traditional Asian cuisine, starting with Vietnamese Pho Bo soup, Thai soup, kimchi, corncobs, Turkish kebab, padthai, Iranian kebab, dolma, matcha tea or masala tea.

Over 15 Asian countries will exhibit their dishes to show their talent, special flavours and cooking skills. Japan, China, India, Turkey, Iran, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Palestine, United Arab Emirates

Bucharest Foodmarket

More then 20 local sellers will be present at Open Monteoru throughout the weekend, beginning with18.00 until 23.00

Explore the hidden gardens of the Monteoru villa while enjoying the buzz of the traditional Romanian market with the hip, coolness and novelty of food vans.

18.30 - 20.00 Performance Maria Balabaș at Modul Carturesti (address)

The show entitled "Our shadows holding hands" by Maria Balabas combines radio and natural voices with video cropping in a special audio / video show. The artist was nominated and awarded at international competitions for sound innovation. Tickets cost 30 lei at the entrance / buy them in advance here.

20.30 - 23.59 Beer Pong Night at License Bar (address)

Join the drinking competition for beer lovers. The registration fee equals the purchase of two beers of choice per team. With each new round the process is repeated. Reservations are made by phone at +40 771 291 702
